Unfortunately the job will always attract people who are wired wrong and seek out authority, control and power. It's the same for teachers, magistrates, clergy, etc. It's not always easy to filter them out from the good candidates.

It isnt just the Police that kill their Partners , killing ones partner ( and Children) is the commonest form of murder ,
Statisics show that about just under two children are murdered by their parents per week in this Country .

From what I heard on the radio yesterday its also not easy to get police to report concerns about colleagues when they think theres something wrong.

Its reported that Wayne Couzens was nicknamed “the rapist” by colleagues as he made women feel uncomfortable. But not one of them thought to inform senior officers.

I heard a WPC on the radio today saying that if a WPC made a complaint agains a fellow officer, she'd Mabel marked as a troublemaker and if she ever called for urgent assistance when she was in danger or under attack, they’d leave her to it. That’s disgraceful.
