I've come to wire up a new light fitting and the problem being;

I have 3 No. earths, 3 No.lives, and 3 No. neutrals (1 No. marked with tape) from the ceiling. The new fitting only has inlets for 2 No. neutrals and 2 No. lives.

I've tried every possible combination, and at best, can only get the light to work continuously.

What's going wrong!?

All earths to the earthing terminal, or in case of a class 2 fitting, a terminal block

The 3 lives to a terminal block not connected to the fitting

the 'neutral' marked with tape (this is actually switched live) to live on the fitting

the 2 neutrals (remeber the one marked with tape is not neutral) to neutral on the fitting

Hope this helps
