The reason behind no flux in the fitting is - if there's flux in the fitting, when the pipe is then pushed in, it can then push flux further into the body of the fitting and into the pipe itself, that can then draw solder inside the fitting/pipe where it's not wanted.See, I did put flux into the fitting, following advice from a few YouTubers whom I deem to be reputable.
Flux only on the pipe means that when the pipe is pushed into the fitting the flux will only coat the outside of the pipe and on the surface of the fitting where the solder needs to be, any excess is pushed out and then wiped off.
+1 for the Superfire 2 - look after it and you wont ever need another one.
Watch with Mapp gas too, if burns hotter than propane so it's sometimes easier to overheat the joints.
