Ballast Replacement T8 58W - Help please!

I have a T8 ballast to replace in my strip light. I took it down hoping to replace it with exactly the same part. However I don’t seem to be able to locate the particular one that’s in there. I’m not sure which spec I have to be careful to match to ensure it’s the best alternative and make replacement as easy as can be.

Can anyone offer guidance on this please? Pic attached. Thanks in advance.

Not likely to obtain the exact same one as in there, as it's some no-name generic piece.

however mounting holes may be in slightly different places.

It looks quite similar to a Tridonic part. Check the Tridonic spec. for fixing holes and etc. against that of you old unit.

Would this one be suitable also? Just asking because I saw somebody had reviewed the Tridonic and said it’s not that great on startup etc. Or there is an Osram that I’ve seen. @flameport @Harry Bloomfield. Thank you both.

Theoretically yes.

However as ebay is the world of stolen, broken, counterfeit, used dressed up as new and possibly all of those things, then good luck buying from there.

As someone said earlier its the fixing centres that may be important, a shorter ballast may involve extending the wires, and as its special wire you may not have any.
A longer ballast will also do the job but may involve redrilling the fitting to fit and that is not always straightforward if the existing ballast is mounted on studs.
The knightsbridge is long for a ballast, whereas Tridonic is a lot shorter.
Measuring the fixing centres would be a good start

Quality Tridonic item also available here for £12 delivered (select 'T8 1x58 Pro'), looks to be an actual store rather than a private seller. Whatever you've read about poor starting may be referencing an instant start ballast which this is not (instant start is a bad thing). The Knightsbridge you linked to would be suitable but isn't a quality product.
