Iceland wanted to use this in their Christmas campaign but it has been banned.

Clearcast, the body responsible for vetting ads before they are broadcast to the public, said it was in breach of rules banning political advertising laid down by the 2003 Communications Act.

It does not break the rules so Clearcast are wrong,

Clearcast are correct but the rules should be changed, or

good job we have Clearcast; quite right.


Apart from the political angle, I think it would have scared a few kids.

Good advert, destruction of th planet will affect all politically minded people irrespective of which political party or anarchistic group they belong to...

Maybe ClearCast will have the courage to go public and explain which rule this advert broke.

It's been banned because it's an advrtisment which has been inserted by, or on behalf of a body, whose objects are wholly or mainly of a political nature.
That''s according to Clearcast on their website.

The UK government levied a tax on high sugar content drinks, this add saying they have removed all sugar is no different to saying Iceland have removed all products containing palm oil , has it been banned? I think the add being banned will make more people want to watch it, and hopefully prick a few consciences .
