I have a wall mounted, single lever bath filler that has worked fine for 6 years, until yesterday when the cold supply stopped. There's still plenty of hot water and all other cold taps around the house are working as before. I've tried the sponge-in-the-bag airlock solution, but this hasn't worked. Is there anything in the tap itself that could have failed, as far as I can see there is no obvious way to remove the tap cover.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

there will be somewhere on the lever possibly covered with a chrome blank(very small) where an allen key will fit.

Thanks for your replies. I've now managed to cure it. I ran the other 2 cold taps in our house and retried the sponge in the bag trick. Hey presto, cold water!
