I was looking at the regs for fitting switches etc in bathrooms and can see that if one is placed behind a shower wall it has to be set back greater than 0.6m+ thickness of the wall otherwise it falls in zone 2. Does this ONLY apply to a shower wall within a bathroom, as my shower wall is the bathroom wall next to the door and I wish to place a light switch on the outside of this wall close to the door, within 0.6m for consistency with other light switch positions. Would this be allowed? Diagram below to expain.

Your diagram indicates that the switch is outside of the special location (ie a room containing a shower or bath).

As it is outside then there is no problem with your proposed location.
