Bathroom fitted and supplied

If they supply it then your contract is for labour only, you can't give a warranty.

What if they supply a sink, you fit it and it cracks under normal use 3 weeks later. You don't have the receipt, and neither does the customer cos they bought it off ebay, but you're still responsible? dont think so

Might be different if the problem is your workmanship, but not blanket responsiblity.

I think you'd still have to prove that it was a fault in manufacturing.
For instance, if I were to supply all the parts for a new heating system and installer X fitted them for me, they would be responsible for all the parts and the fitting. The same would apply to a new set of brakes at the garage.
If you don't want to be responsible, don't fit the items. To say you'll fit them but won't be responsible for anything won't stand up to scrutiny.

I would not want to be your installer and you would struggle to find a reputable garage that would install the brakes if you supplied them.

It's very simple...

Customer buys - customer is responsible for any guarantees or manufacturers faults.

Fitter buys - fitter is responsible for everything. This is why he has a mark up and it is there for a reason.

It is up to the customer as to how much risk he wishes to take on board.
Exactly, not only that, but the customer is not going to get them any cheaper than trade price, even with a mark up, if someone takes my margin away, i will make it up on the fittings, standard practice.
That isn't correct. If you fit it you are responsible, regardless of who supplied it. Even if you agree with the customer to take no responsibility, you are still responsible.
You are not correct, how can you be this naive, have you ever even heard of the Sale of Goods Act or the Supply of Goods and Services Act? I hope you are not self employed.

Quite simply, no they would not.

Services can be provided alone, or they can be provided with goods. The difference is laid out quite clearly in the regulations, i suggest you go read the Supply of Goods and Services Act.

If you'd like to check what the legal opinion on this matter is, I'm absolutely 100% positive you'll find that what I've written is correct.

There is not a law or regulation that even closely reflects what you are saying, not only that, if you were smart enough, you would have already acknowledged that there is a massive logical fallacy to what you are saying.

To break it gently to you, you don't appear to be educated enough to be debating the topic

I am in quite a lucky position in that I live with a lawyer, who specialises in contracts. Having just asked her opinion, her reply was along the the lines of; "just leave it, these people are so arrogant, just let them believe what they want, until they get sued, and they will lose.
I won't say any more on this matter.

Great, can't wait for you to link is to the relevant legislation.

Mate, all legit traders will have access to free legal advice, you sound like a 12 year old school kid who has just lost at COD.

You live with a lawyer now? I just went through you comment history, she has really low standards for a very educated women made up female.

We should not call idiots that, DRM, trolls are people/groups who actually cause disruption and arguments.

This guy just does not hold the relevant qualifications.
