Bell Box Advice - Flashguard vs Orisec ES-330 vs Pyronix Deltabell X vs Texecom Odyssey X-B

It requires lateral thinking they have shown the wiring and programming for there panel which is all you can expect them to do

I didn’t see how the alarm output is what you were asking for earlier.

End of the day the principal is the same.

You supply 12V red lead ground/0V black lead and back light is powered on or off based on the condition the output is set to that you wired to the back light.

Orisec have similar outputs that can be programmed.

To flash with the strobe just use the strobe output connected to it.

To get the back light on or off at night you have to wire it to a photo cell so it comes on when it gets dark positioning may be an issue.

Otherwise it’s programming on at x and off at y problem with that is it’s summer day light is different winter day light hours.

You can use holiday times to make certain points of the year.

So summer you have on at 10pm and off at 6am winter on at 5pm and off at 8am.

But no idea what you really want to achieve.

However the output is acting like a switch so power does or doesn’t flow through the back light.

but if you wanted it to do both ie flash with the strobe when activated and on in at night then you need a custom output on Texecom or a chain on Orisec.

I dare say Orisec can help you as an engineer program up whatever you want it to do in terms of on and off criteria. You will then after test it to see it it works

If you want me to do the donkey work and test it for you I would have to charge for the time it takes.
But I would still need to know the conditions you want it to work on

You have the bellbox, you know how to wire it, you just need to program the condition correctly.

All that I want to achieve is for the backlight to switch off when the bell box is going off.

I have a sounder so I can do the testing.

Thanks very much for your help and time buddy.

you have the answers, on the orisec panel similar outputs exist.

The CP20 has 5 panel outputs as standard.

so wire it to one of them. output 4 is programmed alarm at default and the attribute can be inverted, its the second option

Thank you very much mate.

It's a shame the DIYnot forum doesn't have a mobile app.

Never got the video of the bells from you, do you have these or not?

Just the second time you phoned me you asked for me to test our bell stock to see if we could replicate which is cheeky at best but if your having a problem and I use these bells I have a vested interest to make sure there is no issues.

and wouldn’t take long to test once I know what the problem is you are having. given you hadn’t shown me the problem you claim to be having, I won’t be able to take it up with Orisec when I am there on Thursday. So time is running out!

Sorry, I am waiting for Orisec to send me out a unit. I used the last 1.

Ali please do not call me again. Email the video when you have it.

I am struggling to believe your unhappy with a products performance and your still using it, rather than sending it back.

When you called the second time you told me things which you are now contradicting.

Email me the videos and I will take a look at them as I said I would need the video to see what your claiming is wrong.

Orisec send next day, the sales team bend over backwards to get things done.

So if you ordered and paid for this yesterday or have an account and ordered when you called me after telling me you had contacted Orisec you should have it by now or tomorrow at the latest.

Look forward to seeing the video.

The reason why I still installed the bell box is because I was told by 2 people of Tech Support that what I was experiencing is normal. 1 person from Tech Support told me it is not normal.

Regardless, don't worry I will make you a video when I receive the sounder.

Thanks

no worries, without them seeing your problem not sure how they can comment.

As I know I would need to see the problem to say oh yes that’s not normal or yes it is normal.

However videos can be subjective due to frame rates and resolution, however you should see a significant dim on the same video when switching.

The RW security video was the only one I could find on YouTube, that shows the bell box being tampered and secured and LEDs changing, it’s clear to me on that video it’s light bleed. As to why the single one looks brighter than the dual flashing.

But that’s my opinion, someone else may have a different opinion.
I couldn’t find any other videos so I am guessing that’s the one you referred to on you tube.

That’s assuming that’s I have the right video, you could post the link here to see what others think and I can check I had the right video

You do have the correct video. It is from RW Security.

I watched it a few times to make sure it wasn't just me.

deffo looks normal,

But on this device I can see the brightness you claim to be seeing.

But this is the correct operation.
