Best cement/sand ratio for pointing between stone paving

Weather permitting, I'm going to be pointing in the cracks in my front yard's stone crazy paving this weekend.
I just want to check the best mix ratio for this type of job.
Also, I heard it's good to add PVA to the mix. Is this right ?

Use 4:1 but add a bit of sharp sand (screed sand), in place of a shovel or two of soft builders sand to toughen it up a bit, particularly if some of the gaps are quite wide.
