Best sockets and switches to use

I second John.

The cheaper ranges seem to be every bit as successful as the expensive ranges
The only sockets I've had fail at home are MK, that's all but 2 of 10 (7 fitted and 3 spares) fitted during kitchen refit some 20 years ago.

The vast majority in the house are Homebase or Screwfix cheapies.

Before you go buying a whole houseful of accessories, do consider not every room needs to have the same product, the decor may favour something different.

EDIT. During my work I have replaced more MK's than all the rest put together by a massive margin, I estimate something between 5 & 10 to one.
