I dont blame Macron from shutting his borders but I think this has played against him at a crucial time. All these delays at Christmas has effected EU drivers.. I heard on LBC this morning that they are venting their anger at Macron and supporting and thanking the British.
Would not surprise me if their leaders were on the phone to Macron.

What about uman rights? > Can we now deport EU criminals and foreign criminals?
What about benefits for EU people ? > Can we stop now ?
What about residency for these EU people? > Everyone needs a visa and gets one only if they earn a minimum of 35k p.a. ?

The UK has increased the number of fruit pickers from 10k to 30k. Professional fruit pickers follow the season across Europe so are in work all year round - which makes them cost effective and productive. The silly notion that UK citizens would just be able to take this job for 3 months and then what? Find another job for 9 months of the year or have a full time job and ask for 3 months off to go Fruit picking.
