hi, can anyone pls help, im new on here and need some advice, i woke up this morning and went to turn my boiler on but it wouldnt start up, and there was no hot water either, it has had a new fan less than 12 months ago and i can here it start up, also it makes a few repeated ticking noises but it doesnt ignite, the gas supply is ok, i used to be able to see the spark but i cant see it now, would the problem be the circuit board or an igniter or could it be something else, any advice pls, thanks Dan

Whats the pressure?

Has it been allowed to go down to zero?

Is the air test point on the top at the right plugged?

Tony

hi, thanks for reply, yes the bar has gone down to zero, its at 0.2 but i think its resting on the zero pin. also the plugs are in place, thanks

Repressurise to 1.5 bar and reset the overheat stat on the front panel.

Tony

also, the relay switch that works the ignition clicks like mad when you press the on switch, but it doesnt seem to spark inside the boiler itself

ive pressurised the water back up and pressed the little reset button but it still makes the same noises and doesnt light up,,,thx

is it the reset button below the timer switch or is there another reset button some where, (sorry for sounding abit of a numpty, lol

The slide switch below the time clock selects times/off/constant.

The overheat is under a black cap with a slot for a 2p piece and is above and slightly to the left of the temp/pressure gauge.

Tony

hi, thanks for getting back again, ive found the overheat with the slot. Do i turn the slot or is there some other way to reset it, under the pressure gauge there is a tiny reset button, that is the one i pressed. thanks again. Dan

It would have helped if you had mentioned the model at the start.

As you did not I thought you had the earlier 24S model.

In spite of you saying you have an M24S 90E in reality you have an M90E 24S

What year was the boiler installed or what is the serial number?

Does the red central lockout light come on?

Tony

hi, sorry i didnt mention the model before and (yes i got the model number the wrong way round). i only realised when i took the side panel of and it was written inside, the year is 2002 but i dont know what year it was installed, and the s/n n223491102, i know its an old boiler but it has been reliable up to now. the red light doesnt come on which it normally does when the gas goes off. also the green light flashes more than normal. thx Dan

ive had an engineer out today and he said the pump is broke, he said it was just the front part that needed replacing but you have to buy a full pump at a cost of £170, as they dont sell any parts for them, is this correct, thanks Dan
