CPS appeals against overturning of Quran-burning conviction
Hamit Coskun has been in a legal battle since setting fire to a Quran outside the Turkish consulate.
He was originally convicted "not to punish him, but to prevent others from attacking people who do this". It was rightly overturned.
Now the CPS want to appeal and the basis of the appeal is that it needs to be a criminal offence to prevent people from violently attacking others.
Literally legalising a cry of "blasphemy" followed by a kicking and making the victim the guilty party.
Thats right the CPS want: An act of desecration that provokes others to commit violence, to result in the act of desecration, becoming a criminal offence.
