Bloody Spyware!!!!!

I have Zone Alarm and AVG fitted on my computer and I don't download off the internet, but am finding that whenever I run Spybot and Adaware, there always seem to pick up 10-20 items of spyware.

I did a complete reinstall of Windows last week which should have cleared everything dodgy, but still they come

Any programs out there which will stop them getting through the net?

BTW I use Mozilla as my browser

What type of spyware are we talking about? Can you post the output from SB?

It could just be tracking cookies.

I'm using Windows XP and they are tracking cookies which have a TAC rating of 3

That's an Ad-Aware rating of how bad it is on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst. I would consider 3 as tame.

A lot of sites use tracking cookies. They are mainly used to determine which products are most popular etc. They are also used to remember usernames and passwords when you visit sites, such as forums.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the "spyware" aspect of them. Just do a regular cleanup of cookies you don't want.

If you can be bothereed, you can override Automatic Cookie Handling, to always accept from sites you trust, and always reject from sites you don't.
