Brexit positives

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

You voted for Brexit and as a result you now have a Turkish barber in every British town.

Farage pulled your pants down
This is what I wrote:

"One brexit benefit is that the legal immigration has slowed down a lot."

As usual you proved that you can't read.
Ask someone who speaks English what the word "legal" means.

Besides, Turkish barbers at every corner is not something that happened after Brexit.
Similarly to the forever empty Asian restaurants scattered around the UK.
Unless you tell me that money laundering didn't exist before Brexit...

In fact @Notch7 , ask someone who speaks English to translate my whole post to you.
Here it is:

One brexit benefit is that the legal immigration has slowed down a lot.
Finally there are opportunities for people to change job and even industry whenever they want.
Up to 2016 it had become impossible to work in the building industry, catering or hospitality because Europeans were working for less than minimum wage.
Now, I know professionals who work on building sites and if they get fed up they just go to another site.
We have one of the lowest unemployment rate in Europe.
Of course brexit had no real impact on illegal immigration which continues relentlessly.

This is what I wrote:

"One brexit benefit is that the legal immigration has slowed down a lot."

And this is what I wrote:

"Wrong.

"There were 3,383,446 visas granted in the year ending September 2023, 30% higher than the year ending September 2022. This was primarily due to 660,565 (+53%) more grants of visitor visas, but also due to more grants for:

work visas (including dependants), up 205,343 (+54%) to 585,774
study visas (including dependants), up 48,315 (+8%) to 643,778, including sponsored and short-term students
family visas, up 44,484 (+117%) to 82,395"

Glad I could help you with your mistake. You need to be more careful with the stories you spread.

Benefit?
Nonsense. The side effect of which, is that we've swapped hard working (beneficial to the UK) EU migrants, with idle boat people.
Benefit my arse.
Typical ill thought out jonny-bollax post.

its interesting to see how balanced and rational you were at the start of the thread vs now.

The advantages of a large trading block, IE no trade barriers, standard specifications for products etc is clear.

But those advantages come with a simple problem: Concentrating such power means increasing drive to self interest.

I realise the UK government is not deomocratic and is driven by its own self interest, but the control of 27/28 nations is a whole different level

What were we able to do as EU members to stop the boat people? Please do remind us of the benefit to the UK of the Dublin agreement.

But legal immigration hasn't slowed down. It has increased.

JD moved some of his investments out of the UK and into the European market (post Brexit) MBK and,Justinpassing are extremely jealous of his savvy move.
They haven't stopped whining and lying about it. Poor sods probably under the illusion Brexit would be great for the UK.
Shmucks. MBK is a Boris hornsmoker too, poor sod.
Yea, surprised at blup, but there you go.

You can spot 'em a mile away...

What is the point of this?
Filly made a comment about us leaving the EU and paying lower tariffs as being a brexhit benefit. It seemed to me to be an impossibility because no one then could reasonably have foreseen Trumpf’s erratic random imposition of tariffs in a way that could objectively called a benefit. Hence my joke about Filly’s comment having more hindsight than John D’s alleged investment. That was edited to say “retrospective” because MBK’s comments had been taken to suggest JohnD lied about the nature and timing of the investment to the forum. For what it’s worth I take what JohnD says at face value, both that he made the investment and that it was made at the time he said.

So odds etc can alter as many quotes as the like?! There was a thread about it. But I do it once and it gets noticed and removed.

I only changed Johnny to John…..
