Brexit

Not necessarily. It depends on the factors of production land, labour, capital and entrepreneur.

India is not short of people. It's problems lie elsewhere.

China has a fast growing economy and what you think there net migration figures are.

The current government and previous chancellor growth required net migration. However that's not the only way to grow an economy.
Another way to grow the economy is to become per capita more productive , instead of relying on cheap labour from abroad.

That is correct but when you focus on service industry at the expense of manufacturing then increasing productivity in service industries is harder than in the manufacturing sector.

The bankers are an innovative bunch - I'm pretty such when one such door closes, they can find another somewhere else. It's innovation that drives the sector.

Yes.

That is to say those who claim the Tories only look after the interests of bankers and big business can now see that the Tories have done anything but. The argument is now invalid.

Lol. Why did Cameron oppose greater tax transparency and stepped in to oppose EU crackdown.

Why aren't the EU continuing with your crackdown? They would not or should not let someone as small and insignificant and the UK PM get in they way of tax reform. Or would they?

Lol. Do you know the EU limits and agreements on Tax?

To quote the government.

"Direct taxation is a matter for EU countries, and any direct taxation matters require unanimity across all EU countries. We’re fully involved in international discussions on tax issues and have consistently supported global measures, through the EU, G20 and OECD, which will strengthen international rules to prevent corporate tax avoidance.”

Does the EU set our tax rates?

I said nothing about tax rates, you had better read my note again.

(Though we'll forget about the VAT On feminine hygiene so as not to cloud the argument, yes?)

The EU need consensus on tax matters otherwise there is a loophole if one country is not as forthcoming.

European Commission is looking at whether it should add British territories to an EU list of “uncooperative” tax jurisdictions.

They are continuing on their crackdown and let's see how cooperative the UK is.

As to VAT that's indirect taxes, look at the first few words of the quote I mentioned.

Gone are the days when someone could justify that the Tories are concerned only with the interests of Bankers, yup.

I think you ran a bit ahead yourself in that.

She has clarified her speech in interviews and is prepared to lose passporting rights for financial services and in return wants a deal on the City's access to the EU if in return the UK maintains the same level of regulations as the continent.

So Brexit but not Brexit. Lol

"The Chancellor will be setting out next week how financial services can and should be part of a deep and comprehensive partnership,” she said.

if applied fairly - it would be a long list including many EU countries & territories: Ireland, Malta, Luxembourg, Denmark, Holland, France, Brussels
