Britain formally recognises Palestinian state

While he has the support of America , he will survive.

Do you never wonder why he increasingly gains the support of other Middle Eastern countries? Arab countries at that.

It's worth pondering on that for a while my Paddystinian chum.

Birds of a feather stick together.
Israel has a history of doing deals with dictatorships,so it's not surprising that they share common interests.

What a bizarre thing to say. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle east. Every other country in the ME is either a dictatorship or an autocracy.
That's not something that's up for debate, that's a fact my old Paddystinian chum.

I very much doubt you could find a majority of Israeli people willing to condone the actions of the current leadership.

I very much doubt you could find a majority of Israelis who are prepared to lay down their arms and surrender to Hamas, or any other entity that declares war on them.

What a bizarre (and irrelevant) response to catlads' statement.

Wasn`t it Churchill who said (or repeated what somebody else had said) that "Democracy is a terrible system of Government, but it is better than all of the rest!" ?
I am not a fan of Churchill by the way for a host of reasons, OK he was probably the right man on the right day for a time, due to the way folks rallied around him at a time of great need rather than to the chap himself as a person but that is often the way and the Victor usually gets to write the history.

This Israeli Palastinian thing is a great mess and we (the UK) and others have played our parts in creating this mess, similar things might be said about Russia v Ukraine.
There is never really a One side is totally wrong and the other side is totally right situation in nearly everything, there tends to be some innosence and some guilts on all sides.
Strive to sort it out and vested interests come into play too.
five thousand shades of grey?

Errr... I'm not the one trying to deal with the fact that Israel has had terrorists as PMs by saying

You might consider using the present tense in future.

Asked if he was in favour of “Jewish terror”, Vaturi* replied “I support it. Believe me, Kahane was right in many ways where we were wrong, where the people of Israel were wrong,” he said, referencing the former lawmaker convicted of “terrorism” offences in both Israel and the US and whose party, Kach, remains a proscribed “terrorist group” across much of the world.

*Nissim Vaturi, the body’s deputy speaker and a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing Likud party.

Why the zero sum mentality.
Just because people have a less than a 100% support for Israel doesn't make them Hamas or Palestinian supporters.

It does in his mind. He also "thinks" that expressing any support at all for ordinary Palestinians is a call to kill all the Jews in the world and destroy Israel.

You can't reason with him.

Money. Oil. USA. Power.

There is no other reason. Certainly not because they all love Bibi.

Stability, by any means and at any cost. The first on your list comes from the second, and they know that is unsustainable, so they need to diversify into tourism, develop businesses and industry, attract foreign investors. If #3 says that to do the latter you have to cosy up to Israel and throw Palestine under the bus, they do so without a qualm. But if the day comes when #3 no longer matters as much as, say, China, they'll drop them and Israel in a heartbeat.

China is wooing Iran, to counter Russian influence. Iran is a huge funder of Hamas.

The Great Game continues.

Ukraine?

Is wanting to join the EU and Nato something to which "guilt" can be attached?
