I have a Mac 18v charger for my Mac Drill, trouble is that the power lead is broken and can not be fixed. I've tried to purchase a replacement, but cant find the correct one. Mine is a MSC18Li-SU with 3 contacts. Can I buy a compatible charger , if so , which one and from where.

Thank you ...... here's hoping

If you can't fix it then buy second hand off ebay. Maybe buy complete drill and charger if cheap enough... Not sure you can get 21v charger that will work. Voltage needs to be the same.

It is a problem especially if you store in garage or shed. Cold makes cable brittle and breaks. Better quality stuff had better cables that will take temperature range..

In what way has the power lead broken? Can you describe that issue and Can you share a photo.

do you mean the lead is damaged? or the charger?

replacing a damaged piece of wire is easy.

The wire has snapped too close to the plug. The plug is a sealed ug

And last question - is there a label or messaging on the plug that says anything about what voltage it is producing?

(Also, normally I would suggest fix it, but as your is a 2016 drill, and fixing it might be hard for you, have you considered a new drill such as this one in the budget range:

Sorry - should have explained. Saw the photos and yes cable has broken very close to plug (or sometimes called power brick).
My concern is that the plug is glued shut and also that you do not know how to solder.

I Was interested to know if the plug has any extra details on its back that highlighted what voltage it was emitting into the broken cable. As one solution might be to get a new one of those.

But this might cost some money, and I could not find a suitable replacement. so that is why I was also wondering if you considered buying a replacement (budget) drill as you would benefit from new batteries.

I've already purchased a replacement Mac Drill but not compatible with Batteries.
I've looked on line , still cant find same Drill.
Dont know what to do now.

if the old wart is unusable, you might as well open it up.

a dremel along the seam, perhaps

might be glued, might be ultrasonically welded, might have snap-on (barbed) fixings.

my guess would be snap on. If you cut through one you will be able to see the others.

Get in there! I'd use a razor saw if there's a glue line.
You don't need a handle.
Useful things. Smaller blade is finer - 0.2mm iirc.

I suspect there's controlling electronics inside the mains end so you can't use 'any' 21V replacement.

I've tried opening one of those transformer plugs and it's not possible without lots of damage.
Never got as far as putting back together the mangled plastic so it can be used again. Binned it
