Savings can be a few quid or millions. Investment income surcharge tax is not a new invention.Really. So if you were in your early 60’s what would you do with your savings?
Your comment is nothing but the politics of envy
Quite a few new cars - especially ev's - have the software/apps to do thiseVED (EV tax) will be self reporting system. With users "estimating" their mileage each year. Until a car is 3 years old there is no way to link the estimates to actuals.
I can see this initiative getting rolled out to all vehicles.

Are other business' in your sector making profits?Agreed, but business success is linked to economic confidence. When the government destroys economic confidence, markets collapse, unemployment goes up, and consumers stop spending, which creates a vicious cycle, usually called a recession.
Putting up the minimum wage when economic confidence is already low is pouring petrol on a fire.

the government aren't aware if you read their consultation paper. It will be a self assessment system.Quite a few new cars - especially ev's - have the software/apps to do this

We are definitely in a doom loop.Agreed, but business success is linked to economic confidence. When the government destroys economic confidence, markets collapse, unemployment goes up, and consumers stop spending, which creates a vicious cycle, usually called a recession.

There's already been details rolled out to MOT stations who will face even stiffer penalties for false reporting of mileage detailseVED (EV tax) will be self reporting system. With users "estimating" their mileage each year. Until a car is 3 years old there is no way to link the estimates to actuals.

Incorrect , as abovethe government aren't aware if you read their consultation paper. It will be a self assessment system.

OK Einstein, how will that work for cars under 3 years old?Incorrect , as above
A section from it...
Under the plans, motorists will submit details of miles driven each year at the time their VED is due. A validation check will be then made against the mileage recorded at MOT garages.

no we arent, we are in a government that is dealing with a doom loop of 14 yearsWe are definitely in a doom loop.
When I had kids I asked myself - can I afford to bring them up, can the household survive while only one of is working full time in the early years. Not - more kids = free money
