buried alarm cable near mains

its diy, cant see a diy person with a bender. even then galv conduit will rot if burried in soil

I would think that something like a 32mm or 40mm solvent weld waste pipe would be more than sufficient.

I have my alarm network cable running through the same 4" underground duct from the house to the garage as the SWA mains feed and a TV coax too.

No problems experienced so far.
 
when you say alarm network cable, is that a cat5 cable, or a standard alarm cable? and is it screened?

It's just standard alarm cable.

It carries the network from the panel to a couple of zone expanders in the garage and shed.

The only issue I had was volts drop, as it is quite a run from the panel to the garage, but this can be overcome by installing a power supply in the garage.
