When Virgin Media installed cable tv in my house their fitter used an SDS drill and leant on it to drill through the wall resulting in a large part of the facing of 2 bricks breaking away .I'm going back to Sky and want to repair the damage .Is it best to chop the damaged brick out and replace or should I cut it out halfway and cut a new brick to fit ?

Cut out the full bricks - and keep the bond.

Tape the edges of new the bricks, and the brick edges around the "hole" this will enable you to cleanly (DIY) point it up. Remove the tape after the pointing has been struck.

Taping is an excellent idea as I'm a mucky cementer ! Gaffer tape should be OK?
