C.U. Conversion to 17th Standard?

Spark OOI, why don't you like the idea of mixing lights & sockets on one RCD bank?

Wylex high-integrity has 2 unprotected ways, if memory serves, CU's that are more easily configurable may well become popular.

I don't like putting everything on one RCCB one bit, for one thing its frowned upon by the regs where a faulty device plugged into a socket outlet can take the whole house lighting with it! Or a chewed through cable with something like a N-cpc fault can take down a whole installation, not great in the middle of the night, especially for vunerable people.

IIRC the Wylex version I saw had two unprotected ways.

I think it's a case of crossing circuits, something along the lines of:

RCD1
Cooker
Downstairs sockets
Upstairs lighting
Boiler

RCD2
Shower
Kitchen sockets
Upstairs sockets
Downstairs lights

Unprotected
Smoke alarm
Security alarm

That way, should an RCD fail or have a problem circuit you'll always have a lighting circuit or sockets available on that floor to plug table lamps in.
