Caddy Gearbox

Wanted to find my other post about the Caddy van I've just been given.

Two niggles with the 'box:

Pressure needed to select reverse too little: easy to select reverse by mistake!

"Closed" gate next to second, where you'd find reverse on a Crafter's 'box.

Have they used the same gearbox but blocked off the unused gates?

It's annoying!!

Anyone else drive a Caddy?

mine carries my golf bats !

all vw's seem to have a weak reverse gate. my MK3 golf and mk3 caddy had it and a friend has iton his mk4 golf.

i put the caddy in reverse at quite high first gear speeds once. amazingly it didnt self destruct but the crunch was incredible.
