Can someone identify this please.

Discovered i had a leak and traced it back to this, a pinhole leak has appeared but I cannot figure out what it is. Google ai told me it was a hand grenade!!!!!
The body is white, I've put tape around to stop it spraying but it hasn't worked properly.
Can it be replaced or does someone have recommendations for something to actually stop the leak?
It appears to be attached to the cold water inlet ( the filling loop runs off above it)

1. Its a phosphate "water softener" / scale inhibitor.

Thank you, I assume then the replacement cartridge would be the way forward, says easy to replace... I gold my breath.
