Hi All
My sons 2015 vauxhall corsa 1.2 sting makes a creaking or duh duh noise when turning at low speed or moving off after braking. This has been going on a few months. Garage thought it was top mount passenger side, that got replaced but noise still there. Inner and outer track rods replaced both sides. Cant tell exactly where the noise is coming from apart from front of car. Have checked all around suspension and all seems OK, need some more advice now as don't know where to check next. Car did have a loose gearbox engine mount bolt and that got tightened, I think someone has had the gearbox out at some point. Any help appreciated.

A complete stab in the dark, but the majority of front suspension groans or knocks come from the drop links, or stabilisers as they like to be referred to.
These connect the anti roll bar to the front suspension strut and are difficult to tell if they are worn when on the car. Any torn rubber boots are a dead giveaway of course.
I'd also be looking at the anti roll bar bushes for wear, maybe squirting some washing up liquid on them to see if the noise changes.
I guess the obvious things such as drive shaft nuts have been checked, if you think the gearbox has been removed at some time.
John :)

Driveshafts look OK, will check the roll bar bushes again and try the washing up liquid. Is silicone spray also safe to use? The boots on the sway bar links look OK but I will double check tomorrow.

Sure, silicone spray is ideal for this, and try levering the anti roll bar against the bushes if you can looking for movement there.
See how easy it is to twist the drop link ball joints too - it may give you some idea as to their wear.
I would guess the springs are intact before going any further?
John :)

Springs look OK. One on passenger side is defo OK as we had a good look when replacing top mount. Thanks for your help as I was a bit stumped.
