I saw these markings in a house that I intend to buy in Kent. I have no idea what they mean but they were at the corner of the house at the bottom near the DPC.

Any Ideas what they are/mean?

And please don't say it's an Indian burial ground and that I'll have blood coming from my taps - I'm about to exchange

I thinks an OS reference point, type "arrow carved in brick" into google for info

Well done crystal ball - it appears you're spot on. Kudos

Is it an old forces married quarter? All materials procured for the military used to be stamped with that arrow symbol. Always had to be careful that I wasn't carrying any tools home from work as they were all stamped with the 'pusser's arrow'.

Whatever it is it's evil and needs to be killed with fire. Seeing as it's a brick wall I'd pack my bags and leave before moving in if I was you. Like a house of horrors Simpsons episode.

Being serious though - that's interesting as fukc

It's a bench mark from which things are levelled from, and it indicates height above sea level from the first one in Newln, Cornwall.

^^ nope, just a cottage near Headcorn

^^ Thanks HawkEye244. :)

Think I saw it while browsing properties a couple of weeks back.

If it's the same place, it looks a decent property.

Just spotted this one in Southport
