Thanks for that I will investigate. At the last service the GR man was in awe and told me that these early combi boilers were really solid and advanced for the time of manufacture. Apparently he had been a Vaillant engineer back in the 1980/90 era and knew them very well. On No service engineer has ever commented on the control panel being unusual.
