Does anyone know what this entails?

The best part of 20 years in the business has not prepared me for this!

Basically, the DNO are being shirty & asking for this before they will de/re-energise for a CU change.

I've searched the web & the DNO's site, but cannot find any reference to it.

Certificate of Conformity

I am sure this would a certificate issued by British Board of Agrément which sets standards for building materials. Probably for the CU or some other part of the contruction of the building that would affect the electric supply. Could be as specific as the rawl bolts that fix the bracket to which the cable is fitted.

This Certificate of Conformity confirms that the British Board of Agrément (BBA) has undertaken an evaluation of conformity in relation to the requirements contained in Section 3 of:

European Technical Approval ETA-98/0003

Rawl R-HPT Throughbolt
The Rawlplug Company Limited
Skibo Drive
Thornliebank Industrial Estate
Glasgow G46 8JR

Hum, DNO round here (S&S) is happy to connect prpoviding bonding is in place and the sparky is NICEIC/ECA etc..

Thanks, Bernard.

Got the impression it was to do with the installation. Not sure, though exactly what.

They're UU. Not very good service!

Just been on the phone to UU, and she says it is the same as a Completion Cert. But they would want that BEFORE reconnection, not before DISCONNECTION, surely?

The implication was that they needed this cert. before they would disconnect.

Occasionally we are asked for a certificate before the DNO will connect.

YEDL / IUS are happy with an EIC (dead tests only limitation)

Presume this is what they want? On the other hand it could be something completely different altogether :D

SSE Power now require a "Customers Wiring Declaration" form to be completed for all works before they are started so maybe your DNO call it A Certificate of Conformity?

Here's a copy so you can judge for yourself

Thanks for that. That's great!

But if you're changing a CU, and only that, how can you certify that the whole install complies with 7671, without a periodic beforehand?

We don't do this at present.

"Oh, yeah, we can fit you a replacement CU, but first you need a periodic and then your DNO will insist that we certify your installation fully complies with 7671 before he will disconnect, so if anything is flagged up by the periodic, we'll have to rectify that, too!"

Think I've sorted it, but won't know for sure till tomorrow.

Guys in UU office reckon it is the old Completion Certificate.
