Change of electrics required for new oven?

But hers is a gas double oven
So why did you say that it was similar to an electric one?

I want to buy a separately electric oven and separate microwave ... I want to somehow have a separate oven and seperate MW

So why are you concerned about not being able to buy something which you don't want?

But I can’t seem to find an oven microwave combo

Yeh that’s a microwave oven
No, it is a combo:

Hi lads sorry I don’t think I’ve been very clear and can only apologise and try explain again :)

Below two images you can see consumer unit
And her 4mm cable (for whatever reason) split into two smaller cables ....

One goes to her double oven that’s gas (electrics required just to ignite?)

And one goes to a nearby socket

What I want to buy is

BUILT IN Electric oven not gas ideally

https://www.johnlewis.com/aeg-bp5304001m-single-electric-oven-stainless-steel/p231269447

Built in MW

https://www.johnlewis.com/aeg-mc2664e-m-built-in-microwave-stainless-steel/p231353065

I have this at my parents house but difference is we run a 8mm cable to EACH appliance From consumer unit

This time all I have is a 4mm cable split into two 2.5mm cables

Hope that’s clear

Ps I’m open to a gas oven if that helps - but can I use my 2.5 cable to power a oven AND microwave??

(Let’s assume I don’t want to buy a combo for now)

maybe it was 6mm cable then sorry!

but my point is that we ran 2 separate 6mm cables - one for the oven one for the MW.

At my new place - i've only got a 4mm cable that splits to TWO 2.5mm cables.

and one goes to the socket - leaving only more - yet I need an oven and separate MW.

please can somebody help :)

Because you did that does not mean it was necessary.

If the cable does not run through any thermal insulation nor any conduit, then 4mm² is adequate and satisfactory for 32A circuit.
This allows upto 15kW of cooking appliances to be connected.

Then that is likely adequate for connecting an oven to one and microwave to the other.

Oven on one, microwave and socket on the other.

OR

fit a second socket to the socket leg and plug in the microwave.

We don't have 16A fuses nor fused sockets - fit a 13A fuse in the plug.

Oven on one, microwave and socket on the other.

do you recommend a single GAS oven however? to reduce the "load"?? As oppose to an electrical one and capping the gas point off?

and then make a new socket off the existing socket-
MW into new socket - washing machine and dryer in existing)

dont you need that fuse spur / FCU thing to pull a socket off a socket?

I've just been given the certificate for the works!!!

Hope this helps! seems the oven was "radial"

Who is going to do the cooking? Best yo ask them.
Personally, I prefer a gas or induction job and an electric oven.

Hob is cool. it's gas with a plug for ignition. on the other side of the kitchen.

Its this double oven I need to replace in the larder unit with a single oven/microwave thats the issue!

Dave, I’m sorry, you need to get your facts straight before you waste anybody else’s time.
The circuit is 2.5mm and a 16A breaker on it.

So, to rewind a few days, you’ll need a new circuit, or a much smaller oven.
