hi
in our bath we have a walk in shower. there are 4, recessed halogen spot lights. i can see something like some transformer from the loft space which is above the bathroom.
out of 4 lights one (which is above shower enclosure) seems to be IP 44 one as i can see a glass panel in front of panel.
we are looking to replace shower with bath and change location. so bath will go in new place.
so i will need to replace other spot lights to IP rated ones so they meet regulation.
Question is-
1) can i just get IP 44 rated bulbs or do i need to change some sort of housing / glass panel as well which will require ceiling to be made good?
2) can i replace halogen with LEDs? i heard something about drivers, do i always driver and if there is some space in loft, is it like for like replacement i.e. remove transformer and halogen with driver and LED?
3) if i dont want to replace with LED, can i simply replace existing lamps with lower wattage ones without changing any transformer etc?
