You don't even have to be on the road for C&E to dip your tank.

When I was in business customs drove into our yard and dipped all the vans and trucks. Their reasoning was that even though they are on private land, you are using them on the road as well.

Slightly off topic, but efforts are ongoing to stop people using red in leisure areas too.

Bit rough if you have to pay road duty at sea or on a canal!

I don't believe the blue dye on Ebay is for anti theft reason's. Buyers are led to believe they can use it to aid the use of red. Lets face it, if someone nicked your blue diesel and even if you knew they had, you couldn't prove they hadn't bought the dye too.

I have a diesel car and wouldn't use red anyway, but I know people who have used for years without being stopped. I have never seen a car stopped at a roadside check. I don't think C&E have enough manpower so stick mainly to trucks.
 
Just go to local livestock markets to spot the old white Mercs with red stains around filler cap !! Maybe not so much today. :wink:
