Chicken breasts.

I seldom go to KFC. Not a fan of their food, but I do not believe that they purchase chicken that is bulked via steroids (in the UK).

Years ago, farmers started using antibiotics such as tylosin, sub-therapeutically, the rationale was that it would allow the livestock to digest foodstuff more efficiently. The EU banned the use of sub-therapeutic antibiotics years ago. The USA still allows it. The FDA want to ban it but Congress will not pass the requisite legislation.

I am not a fan of McDonald's but the US beef that they purchase (for the American market) is free of the likes of tylosin and steroids (the EU meat is not allowed to contain either). In no way an apologist for either of the questionable companies, but it doesn't help to see them being unfairly maligned. Go ahead and criticise them, I don't like either Mega Global Inc., but please try to be accurate. If you have verifiable evidence of KFC selling steroid based chicken in the UK, seriously, I want you to post it.
A friend told me it years ago, I took his word because he’s a personal trainer.

A quick google search proves him and me wrong.

So I apologise for posting it. And sorry to KFC too.

Never seen chicken breast in KFC .
Only bones with breadcrumbs .
The filet burgers have have no bones. Why would KFC franchises pay for chicken that is full of water and shrinks down to nothing? The franchises would not pay for chicken that shrinks when cooked.

Those who haven't worked out that most chicken products have been pumped full of water have water on the brain ;)

The fat level in them was bred up yonks ago very quickly. They are part fed on mash which is chicken waste. A farmer's name for it. He was into eggs but the ones for food probably get treated the same.

Sad for me - I have eaten earlier times corn fed. My nan used to keep them.

All chicken shrinks when cooked .

I grew up on a farm, eating animals we raised/hunted. And the meat in stores is damn near trash. The chicken industry raises ONE type of genetically modified chicken, and it's been bred to grow fast. But once it reaches a certain age, the animal literally starts falling apart because it wasn't supposed to love past that age. It's so ****ed up.

I've seen a few reports where they have been using artificial means to make them grow quickly and so big that their legs would not bear their weight. I can't remember which country it was.

The Americans pump their farm animals with growth hormones that are banned here. At least they were before Brexit. Who knows now?

Apparently The Dutch are world experts at producing cheap, crap chicken products. Saw a documentary about a chicken processing factory over there where all the barely useable leftovers of a chicken go into a huge machine to be broken down, turned into a slurry and mixed with other binders, etc and comes out the other end as an off-white, smooth large slab of cheap chicken protein. This is then sold to food manufacturers to be processed again into something that looked more palatable or used to bulk out more expensive chicken cuts/ingredients.

The whole frankenfoods industry is enough to turn anyone veggie.

Yep, most can't even stand up before they are slaughtered...

But stupid people choose to ignore that because they believe 'cheapest is best'!

Cheapest is rarely the best. It’s just…the cheapest. Many people can only afford the cheapest or do you think that everybody regardless of their financial circumstances should be buying corn fed organically grown free range chickens? Don’t be a **** all your life, take a day off now and then.

It’s only stupid people like you with a holier than though attitude that believe people choose to ignore that because they believe 'cheapest is best'. Cheapest is rarely the best.
