In 2005-6 3.8m children were in poverty - in homes on less than 60% of average income including housing costs
How on earth do they measure poverty in this country.
OK I know that they say that the 60% equates to around £12k per annum, but do they include in that all the benefits that a family with 3 kids would get.
If thats the case what about the oaps who are on half of that.
Theres poverty and poverty.
As one who was brought up many years ago in an orphanage I knew what real poverty was.
