I love the way "the models" get adjusted every now and again to make them fit in with the climate change research - which in turn contradicts whatever research was released the previous month.

We need a war, a plague or a change of climate to keep the populous down to sustainable levels. It's all part of the cycle.

  4. This is where the Gaia theory comes into it's Own. She'll always correct the abnormalities at some point or another.

The earth will change as the earth wishes, it was no less happy as a sterile rock than as a planet teeming with dinosaurs.

The earth will be no more concerned when humans become extinct than it was when Ophrys apifera lost its bee (if it did)

We've never enjoyed a stable climate, it has always been changing.

Energy/fuel companies never made profit before climate change became popular?

Perhaps the clever people at these companies have already seen an opportunity in climate change and the Green Energy bonanza.

There is a dept at Cambridge University, for Existential Risk (basically, to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks to the survival of the human species).

The director was interviewed the other day. One of his objectives was to provide a safe environment for radical thinkers to work in: he openly admitted that science nowadays was positively hostile to mavericks, and they were routinely denigrated, dismissed, pooh-poohed, their funding withdrawn, etc.

The director of a Cambridge University dept admitted that a scientist is forced to toe the line nowadays.

Was there a time when that didn't happen?

    When was it?

    Not in Charles Darwin's time.

And Ignaz Semmelweis was thrown into a lunatic asylum.

Jocelyn Bell Burnell was told by her supervisor she was talking nonsense (he later got a Nobel Prize for her work).

Perhaps the agw side need reminding of this, rather than pulling their shutters down...

Personally I see 'man-made climate change' as a bandwagon which started rolling in the 70s, and people just have to jump on it.
Many years ago, we were told we only had "10 years to act" - now that time has come and gone yet they still keep moving the goalposts. A lot of people must be making a lot of money out of this.

Way back in the day, it was known as "Global Warming." once it became known that it didn't quite fit the data coming in, they re-named it "Climate Change." So,,, if it gets colder , that's Climate Change,,, If it gets warmer, that too is "Climate Change" A win , win situation for these scientists.
