Christ, this is a football thread for god sakes. It's all about the world cup and the form of the teams. We all cheer on England and want them to win, surely this doesn't need saying but there are other teams in this competition that are on fire. Can we win them? Possibly but without hating on England who do you think will win and not who do you hope? @Dec27, @pete01 and myself have a little bet on it for charity and a bit of fun, anyone of you can join in with this too, just name your team (any team) if you want to have a little flutter of a £10 stake. All winnings to be paid to the winners choice of charity. Good harmless fun, please don't spoil this by shutting the thread down, keep it as intended, friendly and in a good cause.

I’m backing Spain to win or Norway. I can’t see us beating Mehico at altitude but would naturally be delighted if we did so I won’t jinx the team by watching the match.

The Azteca stadium is the most feared football stadium in the world to players because of its altitude . Mexico have only ever been defeated twice in 17 years in this stadium, those stats alone are enough to make you fear the worst. It isnt that mexico is unbeatable but the fact they are playing in this stadium gives them a massive advantage over us. We have better players which might even the odds out a bit, but a medioca mexican player used to this altitude is going to be hard to beat by better players out of breath and weak on stamina.
