Concerned customer having cheap bill!

Do you carry an efli tester in your kit?
Seems odd to even touch the cutout earth terminal if it isn't connected - would be better if it was just from a separate MET.

No, just basic equipment for us.

The dreaded NEON for PME (either that or an earth spike and customers complain about holes in the lawn then).
And a socket and see for a basic quick check that that socket is right polarity before and after the job.

Don't suppose it matters to us if it's the earth on the side of the cutout or the MET, we have to remove the fuse anyway so we can see if it's got a link or not.
And if not it's just an MET attached to the cutout :LOL:

I've had a very similar situation where it was TT coming in.

Someone had done a bodge with a black conductor connected to the earth block on the cut-out (although it too had no internal link across).

Trouble was, this install had no RCD at all!

And the cutout fed a henley which in turn split to the meter & one CU and another CU not via the meter....
 
so is no action being taken against the electrician or person who fitted the board?
