When I bought my house the shower cable runs from the floor to the ceiling on the landing parallel to a door frame although it wasn't secured in anyway and just flapping around.

I was thinking about taking off the vertical part of the door frame and hollowing out a groove in the back for the cable then putting it back on.

Any problem with that?

Surface trunking mt2 butted to the edge of the door architrave, if the shower cable doesn't run to the ceiling split the trunking base and run it floor to ceiling. One price lid will cover the split and it looks less unsightly run the whole length.

Paint it in the match the wall.

MT2 too small, does not allow for spacing factor. MT3 needed.

Been away to put boys in bed....

Forgot to say, if cable is in conduit (6mm² anyway) it is limited to 38A.
