Congratulations Southend

You really let yourself down with the insult-lobbing, you can't help yourself. Just when you're starting to attempt to begin to make a cohesive logical argument, there goes a random insult, often with a Boyo lobbed on the end. You've got verbal flatulence.

I done loads of learning stuff. Got certificates and everything.

Uni staff are that tiny minority who don't grow out of the lefty cult. Also they're usually there because they can't get a job doing anything useful for the world, actually doing stuff.
When were you last at Uni, Ivor?

So true, a bit harsh but, fact is, most wouldn't be able to hold down a role aside other equals etc hence they chose to mentor minors, they are not threatened. That's fine and thats where they work in society.

No. I'm saying that leftyism is just a phase that young people go through.

What you're suggesting is that the human thought progression is to eventually turn youngsters into bitter/angry/selfish/racist/bigoted old farts...

Strangely enough many young people maintain their more humane views throughout their life ;)

No. That's just how you see those who differ from your blinkered perspective.

There's nobody more bitter and resentful than an angry lefty. Hopelessly spouting on about "the rich" instead of getting on with improving their own lives.

I went through the whole multiculturalism dream phase, where everyone would jump in a big melting pot and we'd all make daisy chains together. Sadly it didn't turn out like that, we do all the tolerating while the incomers hate us and just want to take what we can from us while giving nothing back. So we need a new approach, less based on blind trust and more on compulsion.

the lefties are in a minority but shout loudly so convince themselves that they're the majority.

And of course right-wing people never do that, do they.

They never become so convinced that they're the majority that they refuse to believe in the existence of people with opposing views.

They never stick their fingers in their ears and go "nahnahnahcan'thearyou" to stop their bubble bursting.

Oh no.

When were you last at Uni, Ivor?
1837. It was a while ago. Learnt useful stuff, not some waffly rubbish.

Partially used what I learnt, went into a different but related industry.

The biggest thing I got from uni was learning how to learn. If you need a new skill go and bloody learn it. Everyone doing anything did it for the first time once, don't be intimidated by it.

You forgot to mention that the RW on here are also the loudest and most enthusiastic advocates of the ignore function too.

Their nirvana is a white, middle class echo chamber.

Like the setting up of the welfare state, nationalisation of key industries, massive slum clearance, house and hospital building. Just a passing phase?
That was the old left that represented the working class. The labour party that people respected.

The Labour party's been hijacked. Now it's just a bunch of angry fruitcakes who have 150 genders, tax the workers until they can't afford to eat and pay doley families with 10 kids to vote for them.

The Gender id debate is a little beyond me, but it doesn’t made a jot of differ to the economy. You’re being conned.

The welfare state was intended to be a safety net, not the lifestyle choice it's become.

The NHS needs axing back to what it was - essential, basic physical healthcare.

Plus there are tiers of admin staff doing pretty much nothing all day across all departments. Making powerpoint slides for each other all day.

The state is costing us more than we can afford, Labour are utterly incapable of limiting their spending on anything, they just keep adding more nice-to-have spending that there's no money to pay for. They'll bankrupt the country, then people will find out what real poverty is like and it will all be the fault of this lot, misguidedly trying to make life better but actually making things massively worse.

A safety net implies there are jobs

Thanks for proving my post as correct(y)

That would make you about 200 years old. Do you think Unis might have changed a little in that time?

Learnt useful stuff, not some waffly rubbish.
Like only the younger sons being afforded a uni education? The Heir (and spare) would be taught at home on how to run the estate.

Partially used what I learnt, went into a different but related industry.
Chimney sweeping?

The biggest thing I got from uni was learning how to learn.
Not to argue with your superiors?

If you need a new skill go and bloody learn it.
By working for free in an apprenticeship? Or if you were really lucky your family could pay the master to teach you.

Everyone doing anything did it for the first time once, don't be intimidated by it.
Like mining, tanning, soldiering, fire-fighting, steeplejacks, etc?
