Hello all,

:( 16 VIEWS AND COUNTING..SOMEONES GOTTA HAVE AN ANSWER..ANYTHINK...PLEEEEASE.)

Following years of mulling it over and prices on jobs becoming a laugh I set up my own Ltd Plumbing & Heating firm in Jan this year (good timing). In order to Hopefully gain a foot in the door with certain organisations you have to meet certain criteria (I.E; B'ham council require you to be a member of constructionline, CHAS & HAVC before they even look at you)

Are any of you lot members of constructionline? If so, is it worth it? Another one is HAVC, again, is it worth it ( how much is membership to HAVC) Any advise, tips or good leads are very welcome as there are more membership groups out there than galaxies.

Many thanks

I think you mean HVCA?

You can get out of HVCA whatever you want to get from it, i.e free legal Advice, Pension & Holiday Scheme for your employees, regular meetings to keep up to date with all the lateset red tape, an entry route into CHAS,
You will be audited for financial and Technical competence every three years by independant auditor currently BM Trada.

Your H&S, Environmental policies, Contracts of Employment will have to be up to date etc etc

My Company has found great benefits of membership to this venerable organisation

Thanks Boilerman, LOL, i always get the letters mixed up. I noticed the discount on CHAS membership, and constructionline. I am going to go for it, ive almost completed constructionline application, Im hoping that with a LOT of effort by myself it may open a few doors (not to mention ensuring that all my proceedures are upto date and in place)

Thanks very much!
