Is it permitted to extend the cable in the comsumer unit using WAGO connectors? Im changing a old unit for a updated one with RCD's but some of the cables/wires are a little to short.

Yes, any suitable connector.

The work is legally notifiable to the Local Authority - before you start.
 
Crimps would be better.

Slightly worried that you're attempting a CU change yet having to ask such basic questions :confused:

I suggest that you consider how safe your day/days are going to be, if you are undertaking a task such as changing a distribution board, without the knowledge of any basic testing procedures.

If you do not have the knowledge of the procedure or skill/experience on how to carry them out and understanding of the results/findings, that you employ someone who does! Now you have a safe live!
