Hi . I'm building my kitchen extension. the council inspector came around it see my ceiling insulation, and talked to my wife about cooker hood extraction. She said he talked of 30 litre rather than 60 litre. she may have misheard him. can anyone out there shed some light on this. Thanks

yep 30l is fine above cooker 60l if elsewhere. Basically any hood above cooker extracting to the outside will do

Thanks mikric. the bit i don't understand is that all extractors seem to measure output in, m3/hr. no mention of litres.

10x10x10 = 1m3 of anything :rolleyes:

B/regs speak of "litres per second" extract rate, not m3 per hour ..... so Richard needs to link to a second to hour converter now :LOL:

I am looking to replace the kitchen in my flat. One kitchen company told me that I HAVE to have an extractor. Others have not specified this. My flat is open plan and I have 4 big windows in the room plus 2 vents. Am I obliged under building regulations to install an extractor??

Sorry, I don't understand those old type measurements - I'm not old enough :p
