Ooh, I think we've still got quite a way to go before it gets really boring
Mr Softus you are a bad bad man
I am was and always will be a plumber, I have a degree and allsorts of qualifications that have mattered not a jot when at three in the morning i have been soaked whilst trying to stop a flood in a house, or when i have been running around like a mad thing looking for parts for a boiler to make sure someone stays warm.
so if you think i am an engineer fine
if you think i aint the also fine
but as for a cowboy i really dont think so, and as an anecdotal observation I have rarely meet a dedicated "cowboy" in my business I have meet plenty of lads and ladies who lack experiance and cock up, many experianced but knackered people of have cocked up, why I myself have been known, in very very rare occasions, to cock up, but none of them have activley seeked to rip someone off, mislead them with fact or just charged them loads for work that was not done.
they are out there but they, thank heavens, are in the minority.
now just take the people on this site? what money is there in helping out people with their problems? but they do it (even if its to say DONT and get someone in) I have followed several threads with great interest as the chaps batter themselves trying to get to the bottom of a problem, yes we can some times be a bit off with the umpteenth person who is rude or, like you jdey, think we are all talking crap.
I think us plumbers (and all tradesmen in general) are a pretty amicable bunch and love nothing more than trying to prove each other wrong
but for the most part, before cash and kudos we do all have the safety and comfort for pillocks like you (jdey) at the forefront of our mind.
I think we are great and YOU will always need us HA HA HA!!!!!!!
