Corrosion prevention

Got a few bits of switchgear at work which are just starting to show a few little signs of corrosion, and was wondering if there's anything I can do to prevent it before it gets too bad?

I've attatched a couple of photos so you can see what I mean.

That's only the tip of the iceberg. The whole building is like that. We had to replace a fuseboard today after it decided it had had enough of this life.

We've put the new DB inside a sacrificial rittal cabinet.

The green pipe and the dissolving exel switches are in the hydrochloric acid tank room
 
I note that the CI switchfuse is standing up to it better than the steel ones.

They don't make 'em like they used to...
 
What is the external influence that is causing the corrosion dude? It looks a "bit" salty?
 
It's the DOL in the second pic, I think the stop button has discoloured slightly.
 
The majority of it is. The bits in the last picture I have just posted were live until last week when I disconnected them.
