Hi Guys,

I've got a bit of an odd question that i cant seem to find the answer to anywhere.

I am looking to install a tablet (Sony Xperia Z) recessed into a tile in the bathroom to allow for the control of an audio system. The tablet itself is waterproof, and i am going to build a waterproof seal between the tile and the front of the tablet.

My question is that i plan to run a USB cable from the back of this tile through to a USB hub (located outside of the bathroom) that will power the tablet. The hub will provide approximately 1A.

Would a setup like this contravene any regulations and if so is there any reasonable way around it?

Cheers

I've seen large-screen TVs installed in bathrooms in not-dissimilar fashion and they passed muster. And as the tablet is very low voltage I think you can make a good case for it electrically.

If the tablet crashes and needs a hard reset - how will you do it?

Hi guys,

Thanks for your responses, I'm planning on the the tile being hinged In some way so that the tablet can be removed to be upgraded or replaced if needs be.

I'm going to check out those compliances now.

Cheers
