Episode today looking at VOSA stopping drivers and informing them that, as they don't hold a CPC, they will be referred to court for prosecution.

The big message in the programme was that this would keep the general public safe.

But in the programme, the VOSA staff let the drivers drive off with their human cargo.

Either they are safe, or they are not.

If they are not, they should not be allowed to proceed.

If you had no insurance, they would confiscate the vehicle.

Surely you would be contravening the terms of your insurance if you did not hold a CPC when required to?

Therefore you would be driving uninsured.

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is a qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers.

You must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to drive a lorry, bus or coach.

You can be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally if your Driver CPC expired before 1 March 2020.
