Hi,

I have replaced the isolation switch for a dishwasher. Now whether the switch is on or off there is always power. I have wired up the same way the one I removed of the first picture, replacement second. Can I assume the switch is faulty or have I done something stupid?

Careless rather than stupid?

New switch: Top terminals are marked "FEED": connect reds and blacks to those {red L black N}.
New Switch: Bottom terminals will be LOAD.
(or OUT which is what the old switch top terminals are marked)

Red neon/led lamp will be lit always as currently wired but the dishwasher outlet will only be live when switch is in ON position. Wired correctly and the neon will come on when DW switch is set to ON and go off when set to OFF

Do remember to isolate the circuit first ;)

Every body makes mistakes, some people will try to hide them, a better person admits to them and learns from them.

Admitting them ( on this forum ) also helps others to learn and this can reduce the risk of them making the same mistakes.
