Please look at the pictures do the tyres need to be replaced? Would it fail MOT?
Cheers

Impossible to tell with only a small part of tyre in view? Are tyre walls bulging anywhere? Any wall damage?

Last year MOT was in July, had advisory that tyres had cracks. Same as told in Dec when I had service.
Other parts of the tyres look OK, no wall damage.
One mechanic said reason for car vibrating around 65mph could be because of uneven tyres.

They are very close to the legal limit, looking at the wear indicator blocks.
I’d replace them rather than have the balancing cost to consider.
They are legal, but expect an advisory note....why wait?

How long do your tyres last? If you are only likely to replace the tyres once while you own the car does it matter if you spend the money now or in a few months time?

If a new tyre is going to cost you £80 and you change them now instead of waiting until they are down to the minimum limit (not advised), you're only going to be chucking away a fivers worth of tread wear. Still, to answer your question, as long as the rest of the tyre is okay, there will be no problem with those tyres passing the mot.

If they are showing signs of cracking they need to be replaced or do you want to risk a blowout at speed?

The mid section seems to have worn more than the outer; are your tyre pressures correct?

I’m getting pressure always wrong. On last service it was over inflated. Just now checked it is under.
the ring inflator I have has screw type which is annoying, can’t just put it on easily, threads are already getting damaged on few uses.

There are two settings, high load and low load, occasionally I have high load, do people adjust pressure regularly?

If anyone asks that then the answer is yes, they should have been replaced already.

If they are cracked, they are old, and if they are old, they should have been replaced.

An MOT is the absolute bare minimum of standards which will just about be suitable for use in ideal dry conditions.

By the time a tyre 'fails' an MOT, it's long past it's replacement date.

My car also has economy setting for tyre pressure 38 psi all round .

Tyre pressures, are dependent on load on the tyre, manufacturers list pressures in the handbook, for differing loads, and types of roads you will be driving upon. The higher the pressure, the lower the rolling resistance, but the smaller the contact area with the road, so it is always a compromise, so always best consult the book.

Me, I have a big mains compressor, in the garage, and air piped around the garage and workshop, with around 20 tyres to maintain, but I used to have many more. I use a professional inflater, to check them, and a list of the pressures on the garage wall. I only use the car irregularly now, but the pressures are checked and adjusted to the precise pressures, every time I take the car out, before it goes out on the road.

Over-inflated, your grip on the road is less, and the centre of the tread wears more quickly. Under inflated, then your economy suffers, and the tread edge wears quicker. Get it right, and your tyres last longer.
