How do you contact the DNO and how do you know who the DNO is for a given property?

I know that I'm a qualified sparky, but it's never been something that I've had to do before as I generally work for a larger contractor or company and they deal with all of this.. added to the fact that mostly I've done industrial / commercial stuff..

You used to be able to quote the serial number of the meter to them in order for them to get the details up. Not sure if you can still do this.

Down here it used to be Leb or Eeb and its still stamped on the older meters, i still use the Leb number and it works, for network power or whatever they are now, when they run the postcode through the computer, they tell you if its not them and give you the right number, there very helpfull i find.
