This has stopped working and I was wondering if it requires a bulb change or replacing the unit?

I have a chime and transformer in one which is mains powered. The bell is working fine.

Changing the bulb would take less time than wondering.

I wasn’t sure if that’s possible or if it’s an integral unit? Is it a given that you can replace bulbs in these and are they available from screwfix do you know?

That lamp above is more for the large bellpush that takes a name tag, the bulb you want is sometimes small with two leads, wired across under the two screw terminals, they are easy to change but not easy to get, easiest way is get a new push or a similar one and swop the lamp

Thanks for all the responses guys. Really appreciate it. I will open up and do some investigation.

I do like the idea of an LED replacement if that’s possible

It is possible with care, There will be a back EMF voltage spike from the coil in the bell when the push button is released. This can be many times the supply voltage. An incandescent bulb will not be affected by this but an LED might be affected.

I unscrewed this and don’t see much in here at all. Here are some pictures.

All advice gratefully received

Its a small bead lamp about 1mm diameter, remove the two screws and you will see the wires attached to it, as said earlier you cannot buy them, but may get something similar to do the same job

Ohh, may be a stainless steel one to go with the existing up lighters this time. I definitely want it to illuminate. I don’t mind spending a bit more. Any recommendations?
